WEEKEND VIBES by Kirsten Saladow

The most exciting part of my weekend is when the TBA:16 catalogs came in late Friday afternoon. These babies took months of work + it felt so good to hold them. You'll be able to find them all over Portland, at the PICA office, or you can order one free of charge here.

I spent every day this weekend at Burncycle. It's one of my favorite workouts in the city and I always feel so good after a class.

It's always such a treat to visit Ally at Heart of Gold for the best facials that I have ever had, it's hard for me to take time out for self-care, but I always try to see Ally every 6-8 weeks, it doesn't always happen, but I was so glad to get in to see her this weekend.

It was my good friend Jess's birthday + she had the cutest candy bar -- best sugar rush ever.

As I noted earlier, it was Rum Club's 5th birthday + I spent a sunny afternoon drinking rum out of coconuts + it was glorious. That Michael Shea knows how to throw my favorite type of party.

I'm starting a Whole30 tomorrow (more on that soon!) and this slice of cast-iron pizza from Pizza Jerk + Girls Club at Rum Club's birthday party was the perfect way to say farewell to gluten + dairy for the next 30 days. This slice with beef tenderloin, nasturtium salsa verde, + goat cheese was one of the best slices of pizza I have ever had.

Rum Club Is Turning FIVE + You're All Invited To Their Birthday Party by Kirsten Saladow

It's fitting that a post about Rum Club is my very first post on my sort-of revamped website. Rum Club was my very first freelance client and they continue to be a huge source support to my little business + they are always sneaking extra rum shots my way.

Every year, this is my favorite party of the summer. The drinks are on point, the Rum Club staff (one of the greatest bar staffs in Portland) is having a blast, and the food is delicious. This year will be no exception -- the staff has the day off so come have drinks WITH them while guest bartenders Anu & Chris Elford and John Nugent pour you special $5 birthday cocktails. Plus, Mika Paredes from Girls Club / Pizza Jerk will be there to make cast iron pizzas. Best. Sunday. Ever. There is a $10 cover, but the cover charge will be donated to the Humane Society. Plus there will be a raffle for some rad Rum Club prizes.

As Shea says, drinking is fun! Come hang with us on Sunday - the party starts at 4 PM.
